I have been on a frenzy trying to crochet baby blankets for my upcoming grandbaby! Oh, that word makes me sounds soooo old when I am soooo young!! LOL But, I wanted to get it all done in time for a surprise baby shower I was having for my daughter in law. I think that they turned out great!! Two of them were fleece blankets with crocheted edgings. I had one of the fleece blankets embroidered. The third blanket, I crocheted myself using a pattern from Lion Brand called the Tree of Life. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The detailing on the blanket is exquisite and creative. You have trees on the top and bottom and a field of flowers in the center. This particular blanket Roxanne wanted me to crochet for her, but I told her that it was too difficult to do. I threw her right off! She opted for another one which was NOT as beautiful as this one but when she saw that I made the one she especially wanted....she was THRILLED!!! I was soooo happy that she loved it! Let me know what you think!!

I needed and wanted to complete this post as the blanket, toy and baby Azure are sooo adorable!! As I mentioned before I have started my online business and this is one of the blankets and toys I made and sold. This is the response I received from one of my customers.... "Your products are absolutely adorable! My daughter loves to shake her stuffed animal because the toes jingle. Her blanket is a definite keepsake. Keep up the good work!" R.Riley, BAH. It is a fleece blanket with crocheted edging in a beautiful Sensations Lovebug yarn in white. The bunny is in pink and white Sensation yarn with bells in the toes for rattle. I am very pleased at the way it turned out. Adding the embroidery to the blanket gave it that special touch. There's more available for sale on my website at www.bakerchet.com. One more of Azure... isn't she adorable!I have finally returned from my trip and words cannot truly express how wonderful it was. Now that I am back, I have lots to post but it will take some time because I have projects upon projects that tend to keep me away from the computer. For now, I want to share with you the baby blanket I made for my husband's grandchild Miu. She is such a cutie pie and I hope that she will stay warm in this blanket. It was made with Bernat Baby Coordinates in white, and Rainbow Boucle Shimmer in pink. It turned out beautiful!
I am so happy to finally show you all the items I have been working on for my sister. To recap from my past posts, I have been planning a shower for my sister and have been crocheting a baby blanket, baby bag, hat, and bootie socks for my sister and her (soon to be born) son, Matthew, before I left for my trip to the Bahamas. The shower turned out great and she was very pleased with the items. This tote bag was made with Caron Simply Soft yarn in a variegated yarn and ocean color. It has one button to loop over the top and I lined the bag with a light blue fabric covering a piece of pellon that gave it structure. I added a cute hippo applique to give the bag a baby feel and look. The theme for the shower was zoo animals and so I made a monkey hat from Caron Simply Soft yarn in dk. brown and from Promo Fil yarn in taupe. The booties were made from Caron Simply Soft yarn in white and blue, and from Bernat yarn in a light green shimmer. |
AuthorThe best way to describe me is a person who loves to make others happy. Whether I bake something sweet to eat to satisfy the soul, or crochet something to wear to warm the body, I aim to please those around me! This gives me joy and a sense of fulfillment that I have done my part in making others happy! Archives
