My first attempt at making leg warmers for my girlfriend's daughter (she is like my little niece) did not turn out as well as I had hoped. So, I tried again and this one did not turn out too bad. I used knitted worsted yarn in pink and added a little pom-pom tie to help hold the warmers in place just in case they were too big. She wore them after ballet classes to keep her legs nice and warm. Aren't they adorable!!

Spring is in the air and I wanted to make a dress for my little girl. She loves dresses so much that if she is wearing jeans and a t-shirt, she will put a dress over it. I fought with her all through the winter because the sleeveless dresses she wanted to wear was not beneficial for the weather. Now, as it is warming up, she can wear as many dresses as she likes and I would have no complaints! She absolutely adores this dress and loves to play with the little flower. This dress is made with caron simply soft yarn in off white, watermelon, purple mist and worsted knit yarn in dusty rose. The skirt part of the dress is made with the caron yarn in watermelon. The flower is in off white and dusty rose. The end result of this dress was one happy little girl!I hadn't crocheted a scarf for my teenage daughter for the winter and spring is fast approaching. So, I made this very versatile cowl for her. It is made with caron simply soft yarn in berry blue. She loves it and I am happy. Spring is in the air and it's time to get cracking with crocheting little dresses and sleeveless tops. I will definitely share them with you as soon as they are done, so keep a look out for my posts.
This should be my final post for some of the older crochet projects I have completed. There are numerous others but no photos. The photos are quite old so please forgive me for that. The items featured are two bags made with homespun variegated yarn, a child's hooded vest (I made this for my nephew) in navy and white and a dressy casual skirt I made for myself with caron simply soft yarn in red rose.
After much searching, I was finally able to find a couple more old photos of baby sets that I completed for my friends. Again, the quality is not the best but just wanted to share a few more with you. It has been such a long time since I made these items that I truly do not remember the exact colors. But, they were made with Bernat baby soft yarn. Featured are blankets, tams, a cardigan sweater, a stuffed teddy bear and a toy ball with a bell inside with the child's initials on the outside.
My step daughter-in-law (Roxy) told me that I needed to do something for myself as I am always crocheting for others. So, I took her advice and finally made a cowl for myself. I was going through the etsy website and found so many beautiful scarves and cowls. There was one in particular that caught my eye and I wanted to try and make it. I made up my own pattern (as it did not have a pattern for me to follow) and I think that it came out beautifully. It was not as beautiful as the one I saw but I am very happy with my results. I went back to the site to see if I can post a picture of it along with what I designed but it was no longer there. Someone bought the cowl and I can't blame them - it was gorgeous!! Anyway, mine was made with Sayelle knitted worsted yarn in dusty rose. My daughter was the model for this and she did a great job!! There's so many ways in which you can wear this cowl. Leave a comment and tell me what you think of it.
I had an order for a child's cardigan and so I made one for my daughter first to see how it will look. It turned out great! Hers was made with caron simply soft yarn in autumn red and fun fur in white for the edging. Doesn't she look adorable!
My best friend and her husband came to my hometown to see the Dallas Cowboys' game. As a surprise, I crocheted scarves for the both of them. It was really cold when they arrived, so it was a great benefit to them. I believe it accompanied their outfits quite lovely as well! Anyway, I was able to get one photo of her in the scarf. It is made with caron simply soft yarn in off white and grey heather. Thanks a lot for the photo Moya - love it!! :-)
I saw an amazing piece on dainty loops' website called chain circles. So, I decided to experiment in making something on a smaller scale for my teenage daughter. Whether you want a cowl, skinny scarf, or just making a fashion statement, it is a very versatile piece and can be worn in many ways. Here are a few styles in which it can be worn. I'm sure you can think of many more ways to wear it! It is made with caron simply soft yarn in berry blue.
My daughter wanted this two ball crochet hat that she saw on the lion brand website. So, I started crocheting only to find out that it was way too big for her head. I decided to continue crocheting because I wanted to keep it. Well, before I completed the hat I noticed that it was going to be too big for my head so I skipped some stitches and decreased the pattern to fit my head. I decided to give the pattern another try by decreasing the amount of chains, but then it was too small for her head. I then gave it to my youngest daughter. I decided to try one more time and I was able to finally get it right! She did not want to be viewed on the site, so I photographed me and my youngest daughter wearing the hats. Mine was made from caron simply soft yarn in black and my daughter's hat was made with knitted worsted yarn in light blue. Hope you like them!
